Summer's gone—goin' gone.
Pale moon in a raptor sky,
days as warm as a lover's kiss
just before she says goodbye.

At the age of 20, injuries cut short Ian Tyson's rodeo cowboy career. While recovering, the Calgary-raised Canadian westerner learned to play guitar . . . and the rest is history. He teamed up with Sylvia Fricker to create the legendary duo Ian & Sylvia, famous for a string of gorgeous folk classics that includes "Four Strong Winds" and "Someday Soon." In the 1970s, Ian returned to ranching, then made a dramatic return to the music scene with several acclaimed solo albums, most famously his platinum-selling collection of western classics and originals titled Cowboyography. A true icon of country, folk, and western music, Ian performs starkly poetic ballads and alluring portraits of vivid characters from cowboy culture in a weathered voice that has become richer and more mesmerizing with each of his 60-odd years.

Ian has received just about every honor possible for a Canadian country-western singer many times over including multiple Juno, Canadian Country Music Association, and ASCAP (American Society of Composers and Publishers) Country Music Awards, as well as the Order of Canada. Now in his mid seventies, he combines a busy touring performance schedule with the work on his Alberta ranch, nestled in the foothills of the Rockies south of Calgary. His most recent release is Yellowhead to Yellowstone and Other Love Stories.
