HowellDevineHowellDevine plays the blues with impressive musical chops and extraordinary spirit. One listen, and you’re hooked. “What a pleasure to find a young band that really gets the blues,” says Bonnie Raitt. “There’s tasty slide, harp, and rhythm, with relaxed vocals that all blend together for a wonderfully satisfying experience,” says Charlie Musselwhite. “We love ’em,” says Elvin Bishop. The Bay Area band has won over the greats with impassioned playing and singing and an amazing rhythm section that keeps the beat constantly driving in unexpected ways. With Joshua Howell on guitar, harmonica, and vocals, Pete Devine on washboard and drums, Joe Kyle Jr. on upright bass, they sound both traditional and up-to-date. Their new album, Modern Sounds of Ancient Juju, has earned raves. “There is no blues band performing today as different as HowellDevine—nor as delightful,” says Living Blues. They “romp with wild abandon” through songs by the likes of Muddy Waters and Sonny Boy Williamson as well as their own originals. If you have a taste for the blues, HowellDevine delivers a feast!

The Mosey Boys are a Sonoma County acoustic power trio steeped in bluegrass, country blues, rockabilly, and folk, featuring Adam Traum on guitar and vocals, David Thom on mandolin, guitar, and vocals, and Jack Hines on bass and vocals. Adam grew up in a musical family in Woodstock, New York. He once got to play with Bob Dylan, and his first electric guitar was a loaner from John Sebastian of the Lovin’ Spoonful. When Adam recorded Just Like Home in 2012, David co-produced, and the two soon started jamming together, with Jack as their go-to bass player. They play with a joy and love for the music that comes straight from the heart!
