Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady have been making music together since they met in Washington, D.C. close to half a century ago, not only rock and roll – they’re both members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – but also folk, bluegrass, and blues. They founded Hot Tuna in 1969 while their other band, the Jefferson Airplane, was waiting out Grace Slick’s surgery. Their classics include “Water Song,” “Know You Rider,” and “Hesitation Blues.” Jorma is a guitar wonder, influenced in his early years by the finger-picking style of the Reverend Gary Davis. Jack revolutionized the playing of the electric bass and helped bring the instrument into the music mainstream. They’ve been joined by an array of talented musicians over the years, and for the past decade they’ve been playing with mandolin virtuoso Barry Mitterhoff. Their new album, Steady As She Goes, is their first collection of all-new studio recordings in 20 years. The website Jambands calls it “the sound of old gods at the top of their game.”

Get your tickets early. This show is likely to sell out. These guys love to play, and when they do, the music comes alive!
