Join traditional favorites High Country and Dix Bruce & Jim Nunally as the Freight welcomes the New Year by continuing our traditional bluegrass gala in our new digs, with plenty of hot pickin’, high & lonesome singin’, a fabulous appetizer buffet, and silly hats, plus sparkling cranberry-apple juice at the stroke of midnight!

With driving rhythms, deft picking, and soulful singing in the Bill Monroe and Stanley Brothers tradition, High Country features founding member Butch Waller on mandolin plus Larry Cohea on banjo, fiddler Tom Bekeny, guitarist Bob Waller, Jim Mintun on dobro, and bassist Glenn Dauphin.

Tonight, High Country also celebrates the arrival of its new CD, Perfect Companions (Squirty Records). The new CD features little-heard covers, such as “Sweet Mary” and “the Miles,” and great new originals, all sure to remind you why an authentic bluegrass tune is, indeed, the perfect companion.

Sharing the entertainment hat with High Country are Dix Bruce & Jim Nunally, a duo in the true down-home style: two soulful voices and two acoustic guitars, mixing folk, bluegrass, and country, spiced with humor, beautiful harmonies, and hot picking.

Center Street Garage, located right next to the Freight, will be open late until 1 am for New Years Eve.
