"My name is Ethan Ostrow, and I am a 19 year old Jazz musician and theatre artist in Berkeley, CA. In September 2016, I was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma, a rare type of blood cancer. My treatment was extremely difficult, but thankfully I made it through, and am recovering remarkably! One of the principal things that helped me look to the end of treatment during those months in the hospital was a simple dream. I wanted to put on a fundraiser concert to raise money for cancer charities, and to celebrate the end of that chapter in my life in the best way I know how: with music. This dream has come to fruition, and I am happy to announce that the concert will take place on June 26th at the Freight and Salvage! The “Freight” has been a staple of the Berkeley community and one of the best music venues in the bay area since the 1960’s.

I will be joined by two colleagues of mine - Max Schwartz and Matthew Stoloff - who are fellow graduates of the renowned Berkeley High School Jazz program, and we will be playing songs from a wide array of genres. I am happy to be sharing the stage with these impeccable musicians, who are also my good friends.

The most important thing, of course, is that this concert will be raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, an organization that has funded much of the medical research that saved my life. They have been gracious enough to offer us resources, volunteers, and support in putting together this event.

Please join us for a very special night of music and love, and donate generously to the LLS!

See you at the Freight!"
