Welcome to the Green Room Sessions! Tonight is a casual evening of music
at the Freight, featuring some of our favorite under-the-radar
songcrafters playing in-the-round.
The Creak is a San Francisco band featuring Joe Readel on guitar and vocals, Korey Kassir on fiddle, mandolin, and vocals, Chris Underwood on banjo, Ryan Lim on bass, and Joe Boone on guitar. Their music is rooted in traditional bluegrass, with influences as diverse as James Brown and Slayer. They won the Bluegrassin’ in the Foothills Emerging Artist Award in 2012, and they recently released their first album, Here, Hold This. The California Bluegrass Association has praised their “exciting energy, creative artistry, and ear-catching songs” and the San Francisco Chronicle says, “You might find yourself hooked on The Creak for life.”
