Pete’s life has touched us all. We are all acutely saddened by his death and at the same time, deeply grateful for what he has given us. We expect many people will want to come together here at the Freight, to honor this beloved man and folk hero. We’ll put out as many chairs as we can, and will accommodate as many people as safely possible. Some may have to stand, but at least we’ll be together to say our “goodbyes” to Pete.

The evening will be hosted by Holly Near, and features Ronnie Gilbert, Barbara Dane, Johnny Harper, Country Joe McDonald, Wavy Gravy, Vicki Randle, Lichi Fuentes, Fernando Feña Torres, Joel Rafael, Evie Ladin, Keith Terry, Erik Pearson, Gerry Tenney, Bill Amanteek, Robin Flower, Barbara Higbie, Shelley Doty, Roy Zimmerman, and Blame Sally.

Free admission (donations accepted). There are no reservations required; this is a first come, first served event.
There will be a song circle in the lobby at 7pm (hosted by Gerry Tenney) when the doors open, and the show starts at 8pm after a pre-show announcement by Wavy Gravy.

The show will stream live on Concert Window. There is a $1 nominal fee to view the Concert Window show. It will also be broadcast live on KRCB (91FM), KPFK (90.7FM) and KPFA (94.1FM and kpfa.org). The KPFA broadcast will be archived online for two weeks.

If more people arrive on Monday than we can safely and comfortably accommodate, there will be a viewing party of the live stream at the East Bay Media Center, one block from the Freight. They have graciously offered their space so that we can include as many people in the celebration as possible.

The street in front of the Freight will be closed to traffic during and a bit before the event and we're bringing in extra equipment so that folks congregated in front of our building can hear the music. We encourage you to dress warm, bring friends, loved ones, musical instruments, and folding chairs and help us spread the music far beyond the walls of the Freight.
