GirlymanPerforming an irresistible blend of acoustic, americana, and pop-inflected rock, Girlyman—AKA Nate Borofsky, Doris Muramatsu, Ty Greenstein, and JJ—put on shows that brim with positivity and irrepressible charm. Fearlessly bending genres and genders alike, the Atlanta-based foursome takes inspiration from 1960s vocal groups like Simon & Garfunkel and The Mamas and the Papas, infusing the result with years of classical and jazz training and a quirky sense of humor to concoct refreshingly original songs about love, loss, and memory. As Slate magazine wrote, “Girlyman doesn’t wallow in such emotions; the band approaches them frankly, capturing, in a story or a surprising metaphor, a feeling you’ve had but never heard so well-expressed.”

The group inspires an ever-expanding grassroots following with their tight, gorgeous harmonies and great repertoire, not to mention their infectious ability to have a good time. Live and on albums like their brand-new Supernova, the members of Girlyman switch off songwriting duties, lead vocals, and a range of instruments, including acoustic guitar, djembe, banjo, baritone guitar, mandolin, and quips.

Indy folk rocker Adrianne opens the show.
