Nate Borofsky, Doris Muramatsu, Ty Greenstein, plus newest member JJ, describe their group, Girlyman, as "a modern-day Peter, Paul & Mary—only edgier, and with a with quirky sense of humor." Actually, that doesn't even begin to cover it! Informed by 1960s vocal groups like Simon & Garfunkel and The Mamas and the Papas, and infused with years of classical and jazz training, Girlyman's songs are an irresistible blend of acoustic, americana, and rock.

With their tight, gorgeous harmonies and great mix of contemporary and buoyant gender-bending pop, not to mention their infectious ability to have a good time, the group has inspired an ever-expanding grassroots following over the past few years. They've also been turning heads at major folk festivals around the U.S. and on tour opening for the Indigo Girls and Dar Williams. Most recently, they have been collaborating with comedian Margaret Cho, co-writing songs for her upcoming album. (Of Girlyman, Cho says: "They seamlessly blend folk, country, pop, and rock, and they genre bend as fearlessly and flawlessly as they gender-bend...Girlyman is the future and the past and the present.")

Live and on albums like their recent, everything's easy, the members of Girlyman switch off songwriting duties, lead vocals, and a range of instruments, including acoustic guitar, djembe, banjo, baritone guitar, mandolin, and quips.

Opening the show is acoustic duo Coyote Grace with their bluesy folkroots sound, sweet harmonies, poignant songwriting, and mid-song dance moves.
