Frank Wakefield's mandolin playing and unique vocals have graced many a top-notch bluegrass band, from Jimmy Martin & the Sunny Mountain Boys to Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys and Frank's own Good Ole Boys. His long partnership with Red Allen in the Kentuckians gave the world some of the best-loved classic sounds from the early days of bluegrass. Add to this Frank's flare for showmanship, his idiosyncratic sense of humor, and his hilarious yarn-spinning, and you get one truly memorable evening!

Honored by the International Bluegrass Music Association as a Living Legend, Frank is backed tonight by a band of stalwart players, featuring Jim Lewin on guitar, Louise Mintun on bass, and Luke Abbott on banjo. In performance, Frank and his band generally cover a wide and sometimes surprising range of music, from bluegrass to classical, and include many of Frank's own incredibly beautiful tunes, spiced with plenty of fine bluegrass harmonies and hot innovative picking.
