Banjo powerhouse Bill Evans hosts a Bay Area All-Star Tribute featuring Del Williams, Kathy Kallick, David Thom, Tom Rozum, Paul Shelasky, Jim Mintun, Larry Cohea, Markie Sanders and Oak Grove, A Family Bluegrass Band! Join this incredible one-time-only gathering of some of northern California's best bluegrass musicians as they perform the music of one of the most popular and influential bluegrass bands of all time: Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys.

Experience a basket full of powerful Scruggs-style banjo playing from host Bill Evans and Larry Cohea (High Country, Blue & Lonesome), soulful singing from Kathy Kallick, Del Williams (True Blue), David Thom (The David Thom Band) and Tom Rozum (Laurie Lewis & The Right Hands), Uncle Josh Graves-style dobro fireworks from Jim Mintun (High Country) and Paul Warren-esque fiddling from master fiddler Paul Shelasky (Blue & Lonesome) in an all-Flatt and Scruggs program that will run the gambit from the band's early 1950's classics, to gospel quartets and folk-influenced sounds of the band's later years. This concert also features Oak Grove, the Schwartz family bluegrass band featuring superb young phenoms Nate, Max, and Tessa. Don't forget to request the Martha White Theme! This is a show not to be missed!

Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs met as members of Bill Monroe's band, the Blue Grass Boys, in 1946. The two left that band early in 1948, and within a few months had formed their own group, the Foggy Mountain Boys. Scruggs' progressive banjo style and Flatt's rhythm guitar style gave them a distinctive sound that won them many fans. They became members of the Grand Ole Opry in 1955, and were elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1985.
