Tonight’s show features outstanding performers from California, Oregon, and Washington attending this year’s FAR-West Conference. FAR-West, the acronym for Folk Alliance Region West, is the western region of Folk Alliance International, whose mission is to nurture, engage, and empower the international folk music community through education, advocacy, and performance. The conference is a kind of business meeting for folk musicians, and tonight is their chance to put business aside and get down to music. We expect a diverse assortment of traditional, contemporary, and multicultural folkies, showing their stuff on the Freight stage. Should be a bonanza for booking agents and folk music fans alike!
