San Francisco folk-rock band The Fall Risk is the brainchild of Furthur vocalist and Box Set front man, Jeff Pehrson. The band features Jeff on acoustic guitar and vocals, James Nash on lead guitar, Mark Abbott on drums and percussion, Rich Goldstein on rhythm and slide guitar, Matt Twain on keyboards and vocals, and Mike Sugar on bass. Their high-energy sound is rooted in a rocking rhythm section, with supple harmonies and catchy guitar grooves. The Fall Risk, Volume No. 1, their debut album, is full of Jeff’s hard-driving originals. KFOG chose their song “LeClaire” for its Local Scene Vol. 11 album. If you’ve seen Jeff at the Freight with Box Set Duo, you know he has a knack for connecting with the audience, and with all the talented players in this band, the show should be big fun!
