Roots music enthusiasts from the Bay Area and beyond know banjo-playing, clogging songbird Evie Ladin from her 10 years with the great all-gal old-time band, The Stairwell Sisters, from stage antics and body slapping with her husband, Keith Terry, or from any number of other intriguing projects she's involved in. Tonight, join Evie as she opens the box on the toe-tapping material featured in her new solo debut CD, Float Downstream, original songs with catchy, ripe stories. She's backed for tonight's music and dance filled show by her great new band, with Dina Maccabee (Real Vocal String Quartet, Japonize Elephants) on violin, Erik Pearson (Crooked Jades, Mushroom) on guitar and Dobro, and Keith Terry (Crosspulse) on bass and percussion. Special guests like Suzy Thompson, Karen Heil, Amber Hines, and Matt Knoth add further spice to the mix.

Singer and songwriter, mistress of clawhammer banjo and a jaw-dropping clogger and hambone-r, Evie has a lifetime of experience in traditional American cultural arts. She tours internationally with the Stairwell Sisters, brings her Appalachian skills to collaborations with rhythmic arts from a variety of other cultures in the group Crosspulse, and leads many a rowdy square dance, as well as performing for schoolkids, tearing it up at clubs and festivals, producing DVDs, and teaching.

Evie will be teaching a Old Time Harmony Singing workshop on Sunday,  February 21 at 1:00 pm, Sunday,  March 21 at 1:00 pm, and Sunday,  April 25 at noon.
