Over the past 20 years, Csík Band has made a name for itself, in its native Hungary and abroad, as a top notch performer of authentic Hungarian folk music. Versed in almost all the musical dialects of Hungary, the band ranges far and wide among these supremely colorful and diverse traditions, from everyday village tunes to rousing festival music.

One of the most popular groups in Hungary—their two latest discs went gold and platinum—Csík Band has not only mastered the breadth of their country's traditional music, but has also successfully reached out to younger audiences by creating an exciting fusion of rock, jazz, and classical music, including interpretations of popular alternative rock songs played on folk instruments.

The Csík Band features Péter Makó (reeds), Marianna Majorosi (vocals), Zsolt Barcza (cimbalom, accordion), József Bartók (double bass), János Csík and Attila Szabó (violins), and Tamás Kunos (viola).
