Join pianist and Latin-Grammy award winning composer Gabriela Lena Frank, with cellist Gianna Abondolo and violist Ben Simon for an evening that shows where "classica" music is heading. Inspired by the works of Bela Bartók and Alberto Ginastera, the Berkeley-born Gabriela's compositions reflect and refract her studies of Latin-American folklore, incorporating poetry, mythology, and native musical styles into a western classical framework that is uniquely her own. San Francisco Chamber Orchestra's composer-in-residence, tonight Gabi will perform and talk about her work.
