Christine LavinMake sure you don't miss what will very likely be the Freight's only "Christmas/Hanukah/Solstice/New Year’s" concert this year, as singer-songwriter Christine Lavin and folk-pop trio Uncle Bonsai pull out all the stops! With the spotlight on fresh, new holiday-themed songs philosophical, silly, exuberant, and romantic from Christine’s compilation album, Just One Angel, tonight's show celebrates the season with what Christine calls "songs you'll never hear in an elevator."

Acclaimed by the New York Times as a "comic observer of contemporary manners," Christine sparkles (both literally and figuratively) in concert. Armed only with a guitar and boundless insight into popular culture, Christine takes the house by storm with her giddy stories, rants, and riotous original songs. Her holiday show is but the latest chapter in an illustrious career that includes seven years as a founding member of the Four Bitchin' Babes, numerous awards, television and radio appearances, and a serious knitting obsession.

Uncle Bonsai

With their soaring three-part vocal harmonies and biting humor, Seattle-based trio Uncle Bonsai (Arni Adler, Patrice O'Neill, and Andrew Ratshin) deliver unflinching portrayals of life and love. Lauded by the New York Times for their "funny original songs whose exquisite musical detail and subtle needling wit attain a level of craft not often seen in pop,” Uncle Bonsai wrote one of the songs on the Just One Angel CD, the memorable "Doug's Greatest Christmas Ever".
