The Celtic Fiddle Festival features Kevin Burke of County Sligo, Christian Lemaître of Brittany, and André Brunet of Québec – “three of the finest folk violinists anywhere,” according to the Washington Post – along with master of the open-tuned guitar, Nicolas Quémener of Brittany. Their concerts showcase a fascinating juxtaposition of regional and individual styles. “This is a real treat beyond all borders and barriers,” says the website FolkWorld. The Irish Times calls the show “mesmerizing” and says that “Celtic Fiddle Festival ratchets up the temperature as they ricochet through everything from magnificent Québecois tunes to Breton marches to the Irish tradition.” The Irish Echo praises “Brunet’s rosin-raising fiddling and magnetic joie de vivre, Burke’s splendid solos, and Lemaitre’s intuitive sense.”
