Join three-time National Fiddle Champion Byron Berline and his band for an exciting evening of traditional bluegrass and Western swing music.

Oklahoma native Byron spent nearly three decades in Los Angeles, enjoying a career that reads like a "Who's Who" in the music business: Bill Monroe, Dillard and Clark, Country Gazette, The Rolling Stones, EmmyLou Harris, and Bob Dylan, and appeared with Bette Middler as a country singer in the film The Rose. Returning to his homestate in 1995, Byron opened a fiddle shop in Guthrie, Oklahoma where he formed his own band to entertain in the music hall above the store. The group soon found itself in great demand and tours worldwide with regular stops here at the Freight.

Band mates include the legendary banjo player John Hickman, Jim Fish on guitar (Henry Paul Band), guitar-player Greg Burgess, who won the Oklahoma State Fiddle Championship numerous times, drummer Steve Short (who also produces the band's album projects) and bassist Richard Sharp, equally at home on the left-handed upright and electric bass. Their most recent CD is My Oklahoma.
