The album features eight new originals and covers of songs by Steve Winwood, Frank Ocean, and Usher. Becca grew up in North Carolina, moved to New York and earned a BFA at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, and founded the Becca Stevens band, which features Liam Robinson on keyboards, Chris Tordini on bass, and Jordan Perlson on drums and percussion. They released Tea Bye Sea in 2008 and Weightless in 2011. Becca has also collaborated with Brad Mehldau, Eric Harland, and Dave Douglas. She sings on Billy Childs’ Grammy-nominated tribute to Laura Nyro and performs in Travis Sullivan’s Björkestra. Her unique blend of jazz and folk is musically inventive and emotionally raw.
