For this special afternoon performance the Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives (ALBA) celebrates the 75th reunion of the Lincoln Brigade, Americans who volunteered to fight against Franco's fascists in the Spanish Civil War. Guest speaker Jeff Paterson of Courage to Resist, an organization supporting public GI resisters, will discuss the case of Army PFC Bradley Manning. The program also includes Spanish Civil War songs with musicians Bruce Barthol, Tony Marcus, Randy Craig, Barrett Nelson, and Heather Bridger, and images of courage and resistance by Richard Bermack, documentary photographer and author of The Front Lines of Social Change: Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade.

The Abraham Lincoln Brigade refers to the more than 3000 volunteers from the United States who fought for Spanish Republican forces against fascists starting in 1936. The brigade's bravery in battle and high casualty rate made them heroic figures to all people opposing the rise of fascism.

The Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives (ALBA) is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting public awareness, research, and discussion about the Spanish Civil War and the American volunteers who risked their lives to fight fascism in Spain.
