AG grew up in Miami, earned a degree in music production and engineering from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career that has so far produced eight albums and landed her music on such television shows as Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill, and Gossip Girl. Inspired by artists like Jewel and the Indigo Girls, she plays piano and guitar, and sings her own impassioned originals, which occupy the indie territory at the intersection of folk, rock, and pop. Performer Magazine, in a recent cover story, calls her “a fearless beast of artistic expression” and praises her new EP, Reimagine: The Beatles, as “one of the most haunting, gender/genre bending expressions of musical ingenuity in recent memory.”

“There is a string attached to Maia Sharp’s voice,” says Kathy Mattea. “And when she sings, you find that the other end is attached to your gut. Her voice is lush and sensual and the emotions she articulates resonate with the small feelings we have that sometimes are hard to face.” Maia is not only a gifted singer, she’s a prodigious songwriter who has written songs for such artists as Bonnie Raitt, the Dixie Chicks, Trisha Yearwood, Lisa Loeb, Edwin McCain, and Art Garfunkel. She has appeared on NPR’s All Things Considered, Mountain Stage, Acoustic Café, World Café, CBS Early Morning, and the Today Show, and she recently released her fifth album, Change the Ending, which allmusic.com calls “heartfelt and rousing” and “poignant and poetic.” Along with her singing and songwriting talents, Maia also plays a mean sax.

Garrison Starr recorded her first album straight out of high school in Hernando, Mississippi in 1993, and since then she’s released nearly a dozen more, including last year’s Amateur, which includes a duet with one of her idols, Mary Chapin Carpenter. The website absolutepunk calls the album “a rare treasure,” and popmatters says that its 13 originals “sparkle and shine.” Garrison has worked with such artists as Kevin Devine, Mindy Smith, and Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sprocket, and her songs have appeared on television programs including The Hills and Pretty Little Liars.
