Harmonica players, harmonica fans, harmonica graybeards and newbies, come to the Freight for the second annual Bay Area Harmonica Convergence, featuring Rick Baskin, RoHarpo, David Scott Matthews, and an all-star jam!

Rick has performed with Maria Muldaur, Harvey Mandel, Jules Broussard, Lisa Kindred, and opened for the legendary John Lee Hooker. Rick’s CD, Baskin in the Blues features Craig Horton of the Muddy Waters Band.

RoHarpo was born and raised in Louisiana, surrounded by a musical family. With his roots firmly set in old southern blues, RoHarpo has developed a unique style of soulful singing, high energy harmonica playing and inspiring showmanship. He won last year’s West Coast Blues Challenge and was a semifinalist at this year’s International Blues Challenge in Memphis.

David was the proverbial “white kid from the suburbs,” in Oakland’s blues clubs looking for chance to play. He met and studied with legendary local harpist Birdlegg and has fronted his own band for almost fifteen years in addition to teaching.
